CODE

CodeEd Q&A

The ability to write code is sought after in the IT industry. We are looking to provide people young and old with the skills they need to kickstart a career in coding. We’re actively looking for partners in the teaching space to help us shape the future of CodeEd, as well as learners who are ready to start their journey.

What is CodeEd?
CodeEd is an initiative designed to help get people in the local area coding. We see tremendous value in inspiring the next generation of coders as well as those just looking to learn or possibly change careers.
How do you plan to inspire people to code?
We’re looking to get involved in a number of areas from school lessons and clubs to training teachers and holding evening classes for anyone who wants to try coding for themselves.
Why should people learn to code?
Learning to code isn’t just about starting a career. It can be about interacting with technology and taking control, building something entirely from scratch from your own imagination. I think this video from the states does a great job of explaining the value of learning to code.
When does CodeEd launch?
We’re still looking to build support in the local area before officially launching in 2016. At the moment we really want to speak to teachers and staff at schools, anyone who runs a club or is responsible for implementing the coding changes coming to the curriculum this year. We’d also like to gauge interest for evening classes for those already in jobs.
How can I get involved?
If you’re a teaching professional and want to speak to us about bringing CodeEd to your school, please get in touch using any of the methods below. If you’d like to learn to code, send us a message and we’ll make sure you’re the first to hear about any sessions that may be of interest.

The All Things Code team is passionate about making CodeEd a success, so we’re open to any ideas and suggestions you may have. If you’d like to talk with us about any aspect of CodeEd, please come and meet us at our barn, or get in touch using any of the social sites or links below.
